Alyx Entwistle Showreel: Digital Graphics For Print

There were quite a few tasks to this project. One was to create a manipulated photo linked in with either YoungMinds, Brook or Frank and added to a Lucozade wrapper. Another one was to work with The Hip Hop Shakespeare Company, creating posters which incorporated Romeo and Juliet with an urban 21st Century feel to it. The rest of the tasks were basically showing the skills I have learnt using Photoshop and Illustrator.

HA2 Task 3 - Moodboard - Manipulated Images

1) I have chosen this image as I think the idea of joining two
people together is a good one. It is almost like they are
siamese twins that have gone wrong. I think the image has
been made by simply getting a woman to pose in two
different positions and then deleted the bits they dont need
and added the results together to make one person.

2) This is a really good manipulated image as it brings
the idea of mixing a human being and an inanimate
object together. The fact that they have used a light
bulb, to me, gives the impression of a person who is
thinking about something much like in cartoons
when someone has a thought or idea a lightbulb
appears above their head. You can also see this by the
mans body language. He has a hand by his head which
commonly occurs when someone is deep in thought.

3) This image reminds me of something you’d
see in a animated movie. It is almost like a
insect that is a warrior in his world.
The hand used as legs shows that the insect
would have 5 feet but is a leader of a pack
as he is stood tall and firm with a weapon
and helmet. This image has most likely been
made with an image of a man sat down and
then another image of a zoomed in hand.

4) This is also a good example of a well done manipulated image as it
brings two species into one. It is something you might see in a
fantasy movie as perhaps a special hybrid character with the qualities
of a human but also of a bird. The character will most likely be able to
fly and act like a bird in certain ways especially with the way that a
bird eats as it is his mouth that has been replaced with a beak.

5) This is one of my favourite manipulate images as it brings two
genrations of human beings together. One aspect is a grown mans
head, and the other is that of a young childs body. The use of a babies
cot illustrates the point that is is intended to be a young child. I think
the way this has been made by taking two photos of the same man but
the head and body images have been shot in different sizes. The head
has been very much zoomed in while the body is just a normal shot of a
man hanging off the side of something. I say ‘something’ because I don’t
think that the cot has been shot with this. I think it has been added
because obviously one head does not take up that much room and a
grown mans body does not hang up so far from the ground of a babies
cot.

6) This image, to me, has two aspects to it. The
first is that of a strange deformity to a human
hand and the other is that is resembles a tree.
I find it really creative how one image can look
like 2 different things. I think it would’ve been
relatively easy to create this image. It would
only require one image of one hand and then
for it to be cloned many times and then re-
sized so they appear smaller and smaller by
the time you reach the fingers.
